Looking back, it appears my last game was early Dec/late Nov of '06. Things went about as well as could be expected. I will say that I made all the saves I would expect myself to make after such a long layoff. Most of the goals were one timers to open players in this slot. I was playing against my old team the IceDogs and I know they are really good about setting up pass plays and moving the puck around. I'm not going to make a lot of saves diving across the net to make saves against players standing uncontested 10 feet in front of me, but once I get my feel for the game back, I'll be able to anticipate the passes better and intercept them. I did get 2 great breakaway saves and stopped some nice shorthanded opprotunities in the 3rd though.
The great thing that occurred last night is that I found out one of the other teams has an immediate need for a goalie, so I'm back in the game. I'll be playing for co-ed team The Cross Chicks. They said some of their games were already covered, but I was more than welcome to grab the others and possibly join the team permanently next season. My fursuiting schedule will interfere with a few of the dates for the remainder of this season, but not too badly.
I'm going to have to get a 2nd bag for my suit. I'm going to get sick of switching my hockey gear and fursuit back and forth out of the same bag, lol.
